Burglar Shot At By Harrisburg Woman When Caught In The Act, Police Say

A man was shot at while attempting to rob an apartment in Harrisburg, according to Swatara Township police.

Lareese Rashshawn Dean, 33, of Harrisburg, was found with a wound to his left arm outside an apartment complex he was attempting to rob on Tuesday, police say.

A shooting was reported at Chestnut Pointe apartment complex located at 3655 Chambers Hill Road at 6:22 p.m.

Upon arrival, police found Dean outside the building.

He was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

Police remained on the scene to conduct an investigation, during which they learned Dean had been attempting to break into one of the apartments which was occupied by a female acquaintance.

The woman shot towards the male as he was attempting to break into the apartment.

The woman cooperated with investigating officers, turned the gun over to police and faces no charges for the shooting.

No one else was injured during the attempted burglary.

Dean has been charged with Criminal Attempt Burglary and was arraigned on that particular charge, according to police.

He was remanded to the Dauphin County Prison to await a Preliminary Hearing.
